About Me

I am a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist who is experienced in working with individuals, families, young adults, children and adolescents. I work with a wide range of emotional and behavioral issues, providing  therapeutic services to clients dealing with depression, anxiety, trauma, teen issues, grief and loss as well as relationship struggles. I am absolutely passionate about what I do, and enjoy working particularly with young adults, pre-teens and teenage girls, offering a safe and supportive environment where strengths are discovered and tools are developed to help the client feel more empowered, self assured and confident.

Therapy is not meant to last forever. My hope is that I am able to help teach my clients the coping strategies necessary so they feel competent and satisfied with their own lives. I strive to help my clients achieve the life and relationships they want through knowledge, insight, awareness, tools and healing. This will allow my clients to navigate future challenges on their own.

Education

I received a Bachelor of Science Degree in Human Development and Family Studies with an emphasis in Geriatrics from the University of Nevada, Reno in 2008. I then went on to complete my Master of Science Degree in Counseling and Educational Psychology: Marriage and Family Therapy, in 2011 from an accredited program at the University of Nevada, Reno. Upon completion of my Master’s degree I gained well over 1000 practicum hours of experience working with clients of all ages at the University, Downing Counseling Clinic and Crisis Call Center. During this time I also gained experience working briefly at a residential treatment facility for clients dealing with substance issues. Once graduated, I moved back to California where I started my experience as an intern as well as began doctoral studies in Education through Fielding University. I have knowledge and experience working with clients in a variety of settings, group homes, schools and provided clinical services to adults, children and adolescents. My experience working for non-profit agencies is where I truly found my niche and passion for working with tweens and teenagers. As a previous intern, working in the non-profit setting, I completed over 2000 counseling hours upon receiving my License for Marriage and Family Therapy in June 2016. My background encompasses over 10 years working with adults, children and teenagers within the community.
